Some dogs are allergic to certain foods. Research shows that more than 8 out of 10 dogs with food allergies are allergic to animal proteins such as beef, chicken, or lamb. An animal that reacts to one type of protein is not necessarily allergic to another. Therefore, it's important to find the right food for your dog. Energique Pure Duck is a hypoallergenic, complete raw fresh meat meal specially developed in collaboration with veterinarians. This meal contains duck as its sole source of animal protein and only carbohydrates known to have a very low risk of causing an allergic reaction, such as spinach, carrots, apples, and chicory.
An elimination diet lasts at least 6 weeks. During this period, you should feed your dog NOTHING other than Energique Pure Duck and water. It's crucial that you avoid chewing bones, treats, cookies, table scraps, or kibble during this period. Also, make sure your dog can't eat anything while walking.
Because you need to follow the elimination diet for at least six weeks, it's good to know that Energique Pure Duck is a complete meal that contains all the nutrients your dog needs. Feeding only duck wouldn't provide your dog with a complete meal.
